Restore Files with the Restore Tab

August 24th, 2009

Nobody wants to lose their data, but the reality is that sometimes it happens. Luckily though, you use Mozy and they have your backup. So, how do you restore the data?

The first way to restore your data with Mozy is through the Restore tab in the MozyHome Configuration window. To open the Configuration window, right-click the MozyHome icon in the lower right corner of your start bar and select Configure or Status. Then choose the Restore tab.

Now follow these steps:

  1. Select the date of the backup you want to restore. This is done using the drop-down boxes in the upper right corner.
  2. Select the backup set you want to use in the left window.
  3. Select the file(s) you want to restore in the right window.
  4. Select a destination folder using the Browse button.
  5. Choose if you want to overwrite or rename the files.
  6. Click Restore Files.

And that is how Mozy restores your data via the Restore tab. For further explanation check out Mozy’s help center page. Our next post will walk you through using the MozyHome virtual drive to restore your files.
